Job summary

UC San Diego Health is seeking a capable Radiology Support Specialist to assist technologists and radiologists by scheduling imaging procedures, processing radiographs, and ensuring smooth patient flow. The role includes handling PACS-related tasks, basic Quality Control, and participation in department training and cross-training initiatives.

The position requires hospital radiology experience, familiarity with RIS/HIS and strong computer literacy.

Qualifications

• Minimum: BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to obtain BART within 6 months of hire date.
• Experience in a hospital Radiology Department setting and working knowledge of RIS/HIS.
• Computer knowledge including Quality Control, Safety Control and/or Radioactive Waste.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical, patient care and clerical support to radiology staff by scheduling procedures, processing radiographs, transporting patients, preparing for radiographic procedures and downloading CDs into PACS.
