Job summary

The University of California - San Diego Medical Centers is seeking a Tech Assistant to support radiology technologists by scheduling procedures, processing radiographs, transporting patients, and preparing radiographs for interpretation. This role requires familiarity with PACS, CR, and DR systems.

Ideal candidates will have three years of hospital Radiology experience, BART or BLS at hire, and the ability to work flexible hours in a busy clinical setting.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in a hospital Radiology Department setting.
• BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six months of hire date.
• Working knowledge of RIS and HIS.
• Quality control, Safety Control and/or Radioactive Waste experience.

Responsibilities

• Schedule procedures and coordinate imaging exams with patients and clinicians.
• Process radiographs and prepare radiographs for interpretation.
• Transport patients and assist radiology staff during procedures.
• Download outside CDs into PACS and operate related equipment.
• Maintain familiarity with PACS, CR and DR workflows.
