Job summary

Trinity Health MI is seeking a part-time Imaging Services Extern (ISE) in Ann Arbor to assist with screening, positioning and imaging under supervision. The role is limited to 18 months and supports the Imaging Services Team Leader and Radiologist to ensure quality images per department protocols.

The extern will gain hands-on experience, participate in safety checks, documentation, and training related to radiology applications while following department workflow and policies.

Qualifications

• Completion of the first or second year of an accredited Imaging Services program and currently enrolled with at least 40% completion.
• Radiology Technologist: Successful completion of first year of two-year accredited program.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Screen patient for safety and verify patient identity for each exam.
• Perform exam with proper technique and views per patient condition.
• Complete patient-related documentation per department and hospital policy.
• Document study in medical records according to modality and workflow.
• Review patient schedule to identify potential problems.
• Maintain department supplies and notify when replenishment is needed.
• Attend training related to daily job functions.
• Identify and help resolve safety, sanitation, and maintenance issues.
• Support student education and meet program requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
