Job summary

Sturdy Memorial Hospital is seeking an experienced Scheduler for the imaging department. This role requires coordinating imaging and EEG scheduling with patients and providers, using EMR systems, and ensuring preauthorizations and clear communications.

Responsibilities include processing scheduling requests, multi-tasking effectively, and maintaining accurate appointment information while delivering courteous service to patients and clinical staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of medical experience, preferably in a hospital-based Imaging department.
• Excellent command of verbal and written English.
• Excellent communication, customer service and organization skills with healthcare team and patients.
• Detail oriented with ability to work independently and prioritize.
• Ability to problem solve and address scheduling related issues.

Responsibilities

• Monitors fax work queue and schedules examinations with provider's office/patients.
• Works with Imaging technologists to ensure appropriate scheduling of exams/procedures.
• Coordinates multiple exam requests to ensure timely exams.
• Multi-tasks and follows up on work in progress.
• Uses EMR to book patients for imaging/EEG studies.
• Notifies referring providers of issues and resolves them.
• Ensures insurance preauthorization is obtained and documented.
• Contacts patients to inform them of appointment dates and prep requirements.
• Notifies referring offices of appointment information and inquiries.
