Job summary

Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital invites an experienced nurse to lead the Imaging department. This role covers staffing, quality assurance, patient care, and collaboration with medical staff to ensure safe, efficient procedures.

Ideal candidates will have a minimum of five years in hospital or outpatient nursing, critical care background, and a current Georgia RN license with BLS and ACLS. This on-site leadership position emphasizes education, patient advocacy, and cross-department coordination.

Qualifications

• RN required from a recognized nursing program
• 5 years nursing experience in hospital or clinical setting required
• Critical care background and nursing supervisory experience preferred
• Current GA RN licensure and/or multi-state licensure required at hire
• BLS and ACLS required at hire

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations of Imaging departments including off-site locations
• Staffing, scheduling, and supervising staff performance
• Provide staff education and participate in QA & Performance Improvement
• Contribute to department budget preparation and management
• Act as liaison between customers, technical staff, medical staff and other departments
• Provide complex nursing care during procedures and monitor medications
• Ensure education and training for staff and patients and serve as patient advocate

Responsibilities: Manages the day-to-day operations of various areas of Imaging to include off-site locations of the hospital. Responsibilities include staffing, scheduling, monitoring staff performance, providing staff education, and implementing and directing Quality Assurance & Performance Improvement activities for the department. Participates in department budget preparation and management. Acts as a liaison between customers, technical staff, medical staff, and other departments within the hospital. Able to provide complex nursing care, which includes the monitoring and administering of medications required during procedures. Performs related record-keeping and patient care functions and serves as patient advocate. Ensures proper education and training to staff and patients. Provides supervisory skills consistent with creativity, attention to detail and consistent follow through.

Qualifications: Education

• Graduate from a recognized, accredited school of nursing Required

Work Experience

• 5 years nursing experience in a hospital (inpatient roles) or clinical (outpatient roles) setting Required
• Critical care background and previous nursing supervisory experience Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNCL Multistate License Upon Hire Required and
• BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required and
• ACLS Upon Hire Required
