Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is seeking a Radiologic Technologist specialized in interventional radiology to perform diagnostic and interventional procedures with a focus on patient care and safety. The role requires ARRT/ARDMS registration, BLS, and adherence to established protocols.

You will work within a collaborative radiology team in a fast-paced environment, with opportunities for professional growth and continued education in vascular/cardiac interventional imaging.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology program or JRCERT‑accredited hospital-based training program.
• No experience required.
• ARDMS or ARRT registration required on hire; Basic Life Support required; advanced ARRT vascular/cardiac interventional certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic and interventional radiology procedures including angiography, venography, myelography, nephro-ureteral and GI studies; completes post-processing and record-keeping.
• Adheres to established imaging protocols and ensures age-appropriate patient care.
• Provides patient education and follows radiation safety policies and dose reduction practices.
• Positions patients, selects protocols, and maintains competencies for procedures across age groups.

Responsibilities

Performs diagnostic and interventional procedures to include but not limited to: angiography, venography, myelography, nephro-ureteral, and gastrointestinal studies, and modality assisted drainage and biopsies. Completes all post processing functions. Performs related record keeping and patient care functions. Ensures the utilization of established protocols and techniques differentiating for adolescent, adult and geriatric patient population in the performance of diagnostic procedures and functions.

• Demonstrates competence and proficiency in performing all interventional radiology procedures on patients of all age groups. Positions patient, selects the correct protocol, and utilizes all required equipment.
• Maintains competencies for all related components.
• Accurately follows all established imaging protocols for exam being performed.
• Provides quality age specific care in accordance with prescribed standards and practices.
• Adhere to the Radiation Safety Policies and the principles of a viable dose reduction program.
• Provides patient education and communications in accordance with prescribed standards.
• Must be competent and proficient to position, select correct protocol and utilize imaging equipment on patients of all age groups for radiological exams, when requested.

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED

• Graduate of an accredited AMA approved Radiologic Technology program or JRCERT-accredited hospital-based training program Required

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• No experience required

MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW

• (R) ARDMS or ARRT - Radiographer Registered by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (R) Upon Hire Required and
• BLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required
• Advance Certification by ARRT in Vascular-Interventional Radiographer (VI) or Cardiac Interventional Radiographer (CI). Preferred
