Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital seeks an Interventional Radiology Technologist to join our diagnostic/interventional team. You will support imaging procedures and patient care across all age groups, ensuring accuracy and safety in every study.

Qualifications

• Graduate of AMA approved Radiologic Technology program or JRCERT-accredited training.
• No experience required.
• Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT R) required.
• BLS Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Perform interventional radiology procedures on patients of all ages following protocols.
• Position patients and select correct imaging protocol and equipment.
• Adhere to imaging protocols and radiation safety standards.

Performs diagnostic and interventional procedures to include but not limited to: angiography, venography, myelography, nephro-ureteral, and gastrointestinal studies, and modality assisted drainage and biopsies. Completes all post processing functions. Performs related record keeping and patient care functions. Ensures the utilization of established protocols and techniques differentiating for adolescent, adult and geriatric patient population in the performance of diagnostic procedures and functions.

• Demonstrates competence and proficiency in performing all interventional radiology procedures on patients of all age groups. Positions patient, selects the correct protocol, and utilizes all required equipment.
• Maintains competencies for all related components.
• Accurately follows all established imaging protocols for exam being performed.
• Provides quality age specific care in accordance with prescribed standards and practices.
• Adhere to the Radiation Safety Policies and the principles of a viable dose reduction program.
• Provides patient education and communications in accordance with prescribed standards.
• Must be competent and proficient to position, select correct protocol and utilize imaging equipment on patients of all age groups for radiological exams, when requested.

• Graduate of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology program or JRCERT accredited hospital-based training program Required
