Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Medical Imaging Assistant I to support patient care and imaging workflows in an Illinois hospital setting. You will work with nurses and technologists to transport patients, provide information, and help maintain organized department operations.

The role includes handling PACS uploads, charting, and basic clerical duties while upholding patient confidentiality and safety standards. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent completed before start date.
• CPR certification within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and mobilize patients when required.
• Strong multitasking and prioritization skills in a busy clinical setting.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with patients and staff.
• English reading/writing proficiency and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under supervision of nurses and technologists.
• Transport patients safely between units and exam rooms.
• Support department workflow with organized, efficient care delivery.
• Digitize and upload imaging data to PACS and related systems.
• Assist with clerical tasks and patient information management.
• Ensure patient confidentiality and infection control adherence.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses and technologists to coordinate care.
