Job summary

UNC Health seeks a Diagnostic Technologist to perform radiologic procedures and ensure accurate patient identification and exam labeling. You will educate patients about examinations and operate equipment safely in a 40-hour onsite Wayne Health setting.

The role requires ARRT certification or eligibility, two years of Radiologic Technology training, and BLS. Collaboration with a clinical instructor and supervision may occur; on-call flexibility is expected.

Qualifications

• Completion of two years of formal Radiologic Technology training.
• ARRT registration required or registry eligible; six months to complete.
• BLS certification required.
• One-year experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic radiology procedures per protocol.
• Verify patient ID, exam tags, and accurate labeling.
• Maintain documentation in EHR and billing systems.
• Provide patient education about examinations.
• Operate radiology equipment safely; report malfunctions.
• Assist with instruction of new staff and students.
• Flexibility to cover shifts and on-call as needed.
• Participate in quality improvement and meetings.
