Job summary

Trinity Health Ann Arbor Hospital is seeking an Imaging Support Specialist to work with IRC Coordinators, hospital staff, and physicians to ensure timely image availability and communication of results. You will perform clerical duties, data entry, and maintain records while coordinating with radiology teams.

The role requires 2–3 years in physician support or radiology, strong problem solving, and proficiency with PACS and related systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2–3 years progressively more responsible experience in a physician support setting and/or 2 years of experience in a Radiology Department.
• Problem solving skills and ability to initiate creative solutions to problems.
• Ability to effectively communicate with Medical Staff, departmental staff, facility representatives and physicians.
• Knowledge of Windows based programs.
• Ability to utilize PACS, PACS web, RADNET, Powerchart, Powerscribe, Intelerad and/or other systems after training.
• Additional formal clerical and computer training desirable.

Responsibilities

• Function as a liaison for internal and external departments radiologists and referring physicians.
• Receive and greet customers, patients and/or employees.
• Notify appropriate staff and direct visitors and deliveries to appropriate areas.
• Answer routine questions; provide basic information and assistance with procedures.
• Retrieve and relay critical patient information related to exams to radiologists and physicians.
• Update records using filing systems and spreadsheet data entry.
• Scan and digitize paperwork and radiology images for archival purposes.
• Perform general clerical duties and maintain records.
• Utilize departmental on-call procedures as needed.
• Support radiology staff in problem solving to ensure patient care continuity.
