Job summary

Yale New Haven Health is seeking a Medical Coding Analyst for Diagnostic Radiology to ensure accurate charge capture and CPT/EAP coding. You will reconcile billing edits, monitor EPIC queues, and collaborate with Revenue and Reimbursement to optimize reimbursements.

Strong communication and detail-oriented working style required. Experience with third-party payers and radiology procedures is preferred; team-based environment offering professional growth and impact on patient billing accuracy.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) credential and an Associate degree in Secretarial Science, Business or Healthcare related field or equivalent healthcare experience.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of medical coding experience with understanding of third-party payor requirements, Medicare Medical Necessity, LCDs and ABNs.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills; ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment and provide superior customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Reconcile and monitor charge adjustments; ensure CPT/EAP codes for imaging procedures.
  • Audit imaging billing, coding edits and denials; collaborate with Revenue and Reimbursement and Imaging leadership.
  • Prepare revenue and usage reports from EPIC; ensure all work queues are processed daily.
  • Identify late charges and ensure charges post accurately in EPIC; review and document imaging charges released from EPIC.
