Job summary

EmergeOrtho is hiring an Imaging Assistant to promptly transport patients to and from Radiology, screen patients, and assist clinical staff. The role supports safe, high-quality imaging care across North Carolina with a patient-focused team.

Responsibilities include preparing patients, managing study orders and insurance authorizations, and coordinating with third-party radiology groups. Strong communication and customer service are essential.

Qualifications

  • Comfortable using email and interacting with Internet applications.
  • Knowledge of practice management and word processing software.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Good communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Minimum one year of customer service experience in medical office setting, or other fast paced work setting.

Responsibilities

  • Greets patients and escorts them from the waiting room and/or exam room to the Radiology department.
  • Prepares patients for study by dressing patient according to safety protocols.
  • Completes screening process on all patients prior to study.
  • Ensures laboratory results are received as indicated by study requirements.
  • Ensures all studies scheduled have correct orders and insurance authorizations on file prior to patient arrival and transmits to third party radiology group.
  • Utilize imaging software to transmit images to third party radiology group for purposes of study interpretation.
  • Takes stock inventory and completes ordering as directed by Clinical Manager.
  • Communicates with outside facilities and third-party participants to request and/or maintain accurate records for regulatory compliance.
  • Maintains compliance with Infection Control guidelines.
  • Complies with all OSHA mandates.
  • Performs other duties as required and assigned by Manager, including schedule changes and travel to office locations as assigned
