Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a patient transport and imaging support specialist to assist staff and patient care within the imaging department. This role focuses on preparing patients, verifying identity, and ensuring smooth workflow.

Responsibilities include transporting patients, post-procedure duties, assisting with reports and data entry in EMR, inventory support, and general nonclinical tasks. CPR certification and background checks are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Preferred: 1 year of experience in a medical office or imaging setting.

• Performs post-procedural duties including patient discharge, room cleanup and restocking supplies; assists with inventory control.

• Other duties as assigned.

General Overview

Essential Responsibilities

• Transports patients to and from clinical areas and verifies patient identity according to policies and procedures. Assists technologists with preparing patients for procedures. (30%)
• Performs post-procedural duties including patient discharge, room clean up and restocking supplies. Assists with inventory control. (30%)
• Assists technologists with delivering and retrieving patient reports/imaging, entering data, in electronic medical records, import and export through appropriate means and methods. (20%)
• Provides nonclinical support to the department as necessary. (20%)
• Any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum

• High school diploma or GED; or one to three months’ experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred

• 1 year experience in medical office or imaging office setting.
