Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking an Imaging Department Support role to assist with patient transport, procedure prep, and post-procedural duties. The position involves patient verification, room setup and inventory tasks in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The candidate will help with data entry in EMR, delivery and retrieval of imaging reports, and provide nonclinical support as needed while adhering to HIPAA and privacy policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required or equivalent.
• 1 year of experience in a medical or imaging office setting preferred.
• CPR certification (American Heart Association) is required.

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

This job provides support for staff and patient care within the assigned imaging department.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Transports patients to and from clinical areas and verifies patient identity according to policies and procedures. Assists technologists with preparing patients for procedures. (30%)
• Performs post-procedural duties including patient discharge, room clean up and restocking supplies. Assists with inventory control. (30%)
• Assists technologists with delivering and retrieving patient reports/imaging, entering data, in electronic medical records, import and export through appropriate means and methods. (20%)
• Provides nonclinical support to the department as necessary. (20%)
• Any other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

• High school diploma or GED; or one to three months’ experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred

• 1 year experience in medical office or imaging office setting.
