Job summary

Veterans Health Administration's St. Cloud VA Health Care System Imaging department seeks a Medical Support Assistant to support Diagnostic ICC Imaging services.

You will manage scheduling, imaging order tracking, patient check-in, and documentation in the EHR, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality across Veterans and staff. The role requires strong communication, HIPAA compliance, and ability to handle urgent calls.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and ensures security of medical records as appropriate and in accordance with HIPAA.
• Uses shredding containers appropriately for disposal of protected health information.
• Maintains and protects Veteran rights, confidentiality, and HIPPA compliance.
• Develops and maintains effective written and verbal communications with Veterans and team.
• Ensures administrative follow-up actions support continuity of care and patient experience.
• Provides clear directions to Veterans and staff in person, via phone, or messaging.
