Job summary

Vicinity Energy is seeking an IM&E Specialist to maintain and optimize instrumentation, controls, meters, and electrical equipment for Baltimore cogeneration and distribution systems. The role covers boilers, chillers, and high voltage gear with a strong focus on safety and compliance.

The position is full-time, non-exempt, union, based in Baltimore, MD, with a 48.65 per hour wage and a 10% bonus target. The candidate will support startup projects with advanced controls and distributed systems

Qualifications

• Technical or trade school degree in electronics or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of progressive maintenance/repair experience in central plants or process facilities.
• Ability to write ladder logic, structured text, and function block diagrams for automation control.
• Experience debugging PLC programs and improving control systems.
• Ability to create and maintain system schematics and wiring diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safe working conditions and ensure environmental compliance.
• Operate and troubleshoot electrical, electronic, and pneumatic control systems.
• Install, program, and calibrate electronic instruments and sensors.
• Test and analyze power distribution, motors, and switchgear.
• Create, update diagrams, drawings, and control system documentation.
• Provide technical support to startup teams on new installations.
