Job summary

Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) is seeking an engineer/data scientist to join the Integrated Grid Planning team. The role focuses on building data-driven tools and models to support investment planning and risk analytics.

You will collaborate with data scientists, engineers, regulatory professionals, and other stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable solutions, navigate ambiguity, and drive impactful projects in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with relevance to the role and 7 years of related experience.
• Experience applying data analytics, modeling, and decision-support techniques.
• Knowledge of utility risk analytics, risk-informed decision making, and investment planning methodologies.
• Familiarity with electric utility planning, transmission and distribution systems, asset management, or grid modernization initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Advance utility risk analytics by evaluating and improving risk models informing investment decisions.
• Lead analytical work across Integrated Grid Planning, including investment planning and scenario analysis.
• Translate regulatory requirements into engineering solutions and partner with stakeholders to implement planning processes.
• Mentor teams of engineers and analysts.
• Develop and deploy new data-driven tools, models, dashboards, or software solutions.
• Lead projects with scope, schedule, and budget responsibility.
