Job summary

Proconex is a Systems Engineer role focusing on Ignition SCADA and industrial automation for manufacturing customers. You will design, implement, and support automation solutions across life sciences and other regulated environments.

You will collaborate with operations, maintenance, IT, and OT teams to improve reliability and efficiency. A strong customer-facing ability and understanding of PLCs, databases, and OPC protocols are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Automation, Electrical Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• 2+ years of relevant industrial automation experience.
• 3+ years of Ignition SCADA development and support.
• 3+ years of experience in industrial automation systems in manufacturing environments.
• 3+ years of experience integrating PLC platforms (Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider Electric).
• 2+ years of SQL database experience; data integration.
• 2+ years of customer-facing engineering or technical support experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement, and maintain Ignition HMI/SCADA applications.
• Integrate Ignition with PLCs, equipment, historians, databases, and OT systems.
• Configure and support OPC-UA, MQTT, Modbus, Ethernet/IP networks.
• Develop dashboards, reporting tools, and UI to support operations.
• Troubleshoot PLCs, SCADA, databases, networks, and integrations.
• Support system upgrades, migrations, and lifecycle management.
• Participate in project execution from requirements through startup.
• Collaborate with Ops, Engineering, IT, and Quality teams.
• Create and maintain technical docs and configurations.
• Support validation and compliance in regulated environments when required.
