Job summary

Diamondback Energy seeks a skilled SCADA Developer to support and enhance our Ignition-based systems across field and control-room operations.

You will design dashboards, develop Python scripts, optimize SQL queries, and work with Operations, Automation, Engineering, Measurement, and IT to deliver reliable, scalable SCADA solutions. On-call rotation and rigorous change management are part of the role.

Based in Midland, Texas, this on-site role offers challenging projects in an energy-rich region.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience developing or supporting SCADA, industrial software, automation, or OT systems.
• Experience building Ignition Perspective views, bindings, and components.
• Proficiency in Python or Jython scripting for production applications.
• Solid SQL skills: SELECT, joins, filtering, grouping, inserts/updates.
• Knowledge of PLCs/OT networks and data-quality concepts.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain Ignition Perspective components and dashboards.
• Develop Python/Jython scripts for application logic and data processing.
• Create and optimize SQL queries and database integrations for SCADA apps.
• Build operator interfaces, trends, alarms, and data-entry workflows for field ops.
• Configure Ignition tags, alarm handling, and gateway resources.
• Provide production support and participate in on-call rotation.
