Job summary

Diamondback Energy is seeking a SCADA Developer in the United States to design, develop, and support Ignition Perspective applications and integrations. You will create Python/Jython scripts, build SQL queries, and develop intuitive operator interfaces for field and control-room operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 3+ years in SCADA/industrial automation.
• Ignition Perspective experience: views, components, bindings, styles, navigation.
• Python/Jython scripting for production applications and data processing.
• Basic SQL: SELECT, joins, filtering, grouping, inserts, updates.
• Understanding of SCADA concepts: tags, UDTs, alarms, historian data, OPC.
• Strong troubleshooting and clear communication with users.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain Ignition Perspective apps and components.
• Develop Python/Jython scripts for logic, data processing, tagging, and automation.
• Create SQL queries and database integrations used by SCADA apps.
• Build operator interfaces, dashboards, trends, alarms, and data-entry workflows.
• Configure Ignition tags, UDTs, tag history, alarms, and gateway resources.
• Troubleshoot across application, database, and data-quality areas.
• Collaborate with Operations/Automation/Engineering/IT to define requirements.
• Support PLCs/RTUs/OPC/MQTT data sources integration with SCADA.
• Improve performance, reliability, and maintainability via standards.
• Document changes and maintain version-controlled backups.
• Follow change-management and cybersecurity standards; participate in on-call.
