Job summary

Diamondback Energy, Inc. is seeking a skilled SCADA/Industrial software professional to design, develop, and maintain Ignition Perspective solutions. You will implement Python/Jython logic, manage data processing, and create robust interfaces for field and control-room operations.

Responsibilities include SQL development, tag management, and integrating PLCs/OPC/MQTT data with the SCADA platform, while collaborating with Operations, Automation, and IT to deliver practical, reliable outcomes.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in SCADA, industrial software, automation, or OT systems.
• Ignition Perspective development experience.
• Experience writing Python/Jython scripts for production apps.
• Basic SQL skills with SELECT, JOINs, filtering, and updates.
• Understanding of SCADA concepts: tags, alarms, OPC, historian data.
• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
• Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical users.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain Ignition Perspective apps, views, templates, and reusable components.
• Develop Python/Jython scripts for application logic, data processing, tag management, integrations, reporting, and automation.
• Create and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, and database integrations for SCADA.
• Build operator interfaces, dashboards, trends, alarms, and data-entry workflows.
• Configure and maintain Ignition tags, UDTs, tag history, alarms, gateways.
• Troubleshoot app, scripting, DB, communication, and data-quality issues across the SCADA system.
• Collaborate with Operations, Automation, Measurement, Engineering, IT to define requirements.
• Support PLCs, RTUs, OPC servers, MQTT, APIs; integrate data sources with SCADA.
• Improve performance, reliability, maintainability via standards and reviews.
• Document changes, scripts, objects, configurations, and backups; maintain version control.
• Follow change-management, cybersecurity, access-control, and testing standards.
• Participate in production support and on-call rotation for critical SCADA issues.
