Job summary

Actalent in Plano, TX is seeking an Ignition SCADA Controls Engineer to design and develop modern control interfaces for Building Management Systems and Energy Management Platforms.

You will configure Ignition gateways, build dashboards for HVAC and data centers, integrate with Allen-Bradley PLCs using BACnet/Modbus, and support remote commissioning. Hybrid work begins remotely, transitioning to onsite for several months within a year.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Ignition for SCADA and HMI development.
• This role requires strong experience in configuring Ignition gateways, projects and modules.
• Proficiency in building and customizing graphics, dashboards and user interfaces for HVAC and facility operations.
• Experience integrating control systems with PLCs, including Allen-Bradley.
• Knowledge of BACnet and Modbus protocols.
• Ability to design tag structures, alarming, trends and navigation layouts within Ignition.
• Solid understanding of distributed controls networks and data collection for energy management.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop Ignition-based SCADA/HMI systems for BMS and EMP.
• Build and configure dashboards, graphics and UIs for HVAC and facility operations.
• Develop system architecture including tag structures, alarms and trends.
• Configure Ignition gateways, projects and modules for reliable operation.
• Set up and maintain network communication between field devices, controllers and servers.
• Integrate control systems with PLCs and industry protocols.
• Support data collection, visualization and reporting for energy management.
• Collaborate with engineering teams on design, deployment and troubleshooting.
• Assist with remote commissioning and system validation.
