Job summary

Divergent in Torrance, CA seeks an Automation Controls Engineer (SCADA) to advance the Divergent Adaptive Production System. You will own the Ignition SCADA platform, integrate PLCs and factory data, and deliver actionable insights to production and engineering teams.

Based in an onsite environment, this role offers growth into PLC programming, robotics, motion control, and electrical systems within a collaborative, fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or relevant discipline or equivalent automation & controls experience.
• Experience with automations and controls in manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

• Own, develop, and maintain the Ignition SCADA platform for factory data and telemetry.
• Design and deploy SCADA apps, dashboards, trends, alarms, and reporting tools.
• Integrate PLCs, equipment, and facility systems into a scalable data architecture.
• Establish consistent data structures, tagging, and interfaces for accessible data.
• Support reliability and performance of the SCADA environment.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, facilities, IT, and automation teams to translate needs into solutions.
• Contribute to DAPS modules and R&D systems.
