Job summary

Avanceon seeks an experienced Lead Project Engineer with strong Inductive Automation Ignition expertise to join our Engineering Team. This role combines hands-on automation and controls engineering with responsibility for leading project teams and owning the successful technical delivery of customer projects.

Qualifications

• Experience with Ignition, able to independently develop and deploy Ignition solutions in industrial settings.
• Proven ability to lead engineering teams and own automation projects from design to commissioning.
• Strong PLC/SCADA programming experience; familiarity with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, and Schneider Electric is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Understand customer operational and technical challenges and design automation solutions to improve productivity, efficiency, capacity, and quality.
• Act as the accountable technical authority for projects, owning technical approach and engineering quality.
• Lead project engineering teams, providing direction, coordinating activities, reviewing work, and resolving issues.
• Partner with Project Manager on planning, scheduling, financial tracking, documentation, and coordination.
• Design, configure, test, deploy, and support Ignition-based applications (Perspective, tags, alarms, historian, scripting, databases, OPC UA, device integration).
• Develop and integrate PLC, HMI/SCADA, and other control solutions across industries and processes.
• Apply Industry 4.0, IIoT, IT, and emerging technologies to deliver value.
• Collaborate across engineering, operations, IT, and customer teams throughout the project lifecycle.
