Job Description for IGIV-C Technician

SHIFT: 12 Hour Rotating

The IGIV-C Technician is responsible for the isolation of IgG by processing plasma intermediate paste and performing fundamental tasks within a GMP environment, including cleaning and maintaining the workplace, assembling and disassembling operating equipment per applicable procedures, assisting with process control manipulations, and maintaining records/logs in accordance with current standard procedures.

TECH I Responsibilities:
  1. Performs general housekeeping in compliance with the high standards required of a pharmaceutical operation.
  2. Assists in the preparation of all solutions required for the process area and dispenses necessary cleaning/sanitization reagents to clean and sanitize production areas and equipment.
  3. Demonstrates the care and safety necessary to properly safeguard facilities, equipment, product, and co-workers. Assembles and disassembles production equipment.
  4. Operates production equipment (filters, vessels, skids, columns, etc.).
  5. Operates fork truck in a safe and efficient manner.
  6. Operates CIP circuits.
  7. Monitors and controls processes utilizing the DCS.
  8. Performs real-time documentation during production and maintains accurate records/logs.
  9. Performs integrity tests on sterile filters.
Additional Responsibilities:

Includes buffer prep activities, zone-specific tasks, and process support activities as detailed in the original description.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Basic math skills, basic computer skills, mechanical aptitude, detail-oriented, ability to work in a team environment, and exercise good judgment.

Requirements:

High school education or GED.

TECH II Responsibilities:

Includes GMP and safety audits, equipment preparation, troubleshooting, and process area tasks as detailed in the original description.

Additional Requirements for TECH II:

Minimum 12 months experience as a Technician in the respective department, a minimum overall performance rating of 'meets expectations,' and demonstrated competence in at least one process area and proficiency in at least two areas.

Occupational Demands:

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand/walk continuously, work rotating shifts, and exposure to biological fluids, chemicals, machinery, noise, dust, cold, confined spaces, heights, and require personal protective equipment. Ability to perform routine tasks following instructions.
