Job summary

Olympia School District is seeking a Paraeducator to support students with IEPs in academic settings such as Math, Science, Language Arts and Social Studies. You will assist certificated staff with IEP development, data collection, and creating instructional materials.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, and completion of approved paraeducator assessments or college credits; there is a focus on collaboration, de‑escalation training, and restorative practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; options include ETS Parapro, Master Teacher Paraeducator Online Training, college credits or an associate degree.
• Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance required.
• Experience with school age children who qualify for special education.

Responsibilities

• Assist certificated staff with IEP plan development and data collection.
• Create educational materials to support student progress toward IEP goals.
• Monitor students and ensure a safe, supportive learning environment.
• Maintain student records and confidentiality.
• Collaborate in team meetings and trainings to improve skills.
