Job summary

The Darnell School, a program of Advocates, seeks a Teacher Assistant to implement student programming and support IEP goals in a 1:1 or 1:2 ratio. You will collect progress data, apply behavior support strategies, and accompany students into the community to broaden learning experiences.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
• Valid driver’s license with safe driving record; access to a vehicle for transport.
• Must pass background checks.

Responsibilities

• Implement student IEP goals in 1:1 or 1:2 ratio.
• Implement behavior support plans and collect data on progress.
• Accompany and teach students in the community and during transportation.
• Attend weekly classroom staff meetings and monthly trainings.
• Maintain certifications (First Aid, CPR, Safety Care).
