Job summary

The Darnell School, a program of Advocates, is a 221-day ABA school serving students aged 9-22 with autism and related needs. The Teacher Assistant will support students 1:1 or 1:2, implementing IEP goals and behavior plans, while collecting progress data and joining students in community activities.

Minimum education is a High School Diploma/GED. The role operates Monday–Friday, 9am–3pm, with comprehensive benefits, paid holidays, and opportunities for professional growth within Advocates.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Excellent communication in English (spoken and written).
• Must pass background checks; driver’s license and vehicle for transport may be required.

Responsibilities

• Implement student IEP goals.
• Implement behavior support plans.
• Collect data to monitor progress using digital or paper tools.
• accompany and teach students in community activities.
• Transport students to community settings as needed.
• Attend weekly staff meetings and monthly trainings.
• Maintain required certifications (First Aid, CPR, Safety Care).
