Responsibilities

• Develops IEPs for students with disabilities; implements the IEP; uses diagnostic information to update IEPs as needed.
• Implements instructional strategies and progress monitoring tools to provide specially designed instruction.
• Assists students in completing curriculum tasks and to complete IEP goals.
• Employs varied teaching methods and materials to meet student needs; adapts materials as necessary.
• Monitors student behavior and maintains classroom discipline; deescalates inappropriate behaviors.
• Evaluates student work and progress; coordinates grades and reports.
• Attends IEP meetings as a collaborative team member.
• Stays updated on trends, research and best practices in instruction.
