Job summary

Marqeta, Inc. is seeking an experienced Manager of Software Engineering to lead the Identity Platform within the Risk, Fraud and Disputes pod. You will own the CIP, CDD, KYB and related KYC/KYB workflows, scale backend systems, and engage with regulators to ensure compliant, scalable identity verification.

You will lead an engineering team, drive automation, and partner across Risk, Compliance, Product, Operations and Legal to shape roadmaps and delivery strategies.

Qualifications

• 8–10+ years in engineering with 3+ years leading senior and staff engineers.
• Strong backend systems design and scaling experience.
• Experience across multiple product lines and paradigms from APIs to ETL pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end identity platform development and reliability.
• Mentor and lead a high-performing engineering team to ship with velocity.
• Drive AI-first automation to reduce manual reviews and improve decisioning.
• Engage with enterprise customers and regulators to translate complex needs into platform improvements.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Risk, Compliance, Product, Operations and Legal.
