Job summary

The Maine Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is seeking an Identification Specialist II in Augusta to analyze criminal history records, confirm identities, and interpret legal documents. You will use independent judgment to identify excluded individuals and determine eligibility for direct access care workers serving vulnerable persons in Maine.

Qualifications

• Two year combination of complex clerical experience and/or post-secondary education; includes at least six months evaluating and interpreting legal documents.

Responsibilities

• Analyze criminal history records (RAP sheets) and confirm identities.
• Interpret and evaluate legal documents for eligibility decisions.
• Confirm applicants' identities against exclusion lists.
• Determine if individuals with criminal histories may be hired as direct access care workers for Maine.
• Perform computer testing for program enhancements.
