Job summary

Gordon Food Service, North America's largest family-owned broadline foodservice distributor, invites you to join our 12-week Identity Analyst internship at our Home Office. You’ll gain hands-on experience with Okta workflows, identity protection, and SSO while supporting design, testing, and documentation efforts across North America and Canada.

You will work with mentors, participate in IAM sprint ceremonies, and deliver a capstone project to EIS leadership.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a university pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Cyber Security, Information Assurance or related fields.
• Must be authorized to work in the US.
• Must have a 3.0 GPA or higher.

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing, testing, and documenting automated lifecycle and security event workflows (Okta Workflows).
• Assist with policy configuration, signal-sharing evaluations, and threat response validation (Identity Threat Protection).
• Support endpoint identity integration testing and policy validation (Okta OS Login).
• Assist in onboarding and migrating applications to SAML 2.0 and OIDC authentication standards; test in non-production environments.
• Develop training guides and SOPs; document test cases and runbooks for Tier 1/2 support.
• Participate in IAM sprint ceremonies, backlog reviews, and deliver a capstone project presentation.

Build a Career: In the Identity Analyst department by:

Next-Gen Okta Technology Implementation & Testing:

• Okta Workflows: Assisting in designing, testing, and documenting automated lifecycle and security event workflows.
• Identity Threat Protection (ITP): Assisting with policy configuration, signal-sharing evaluations, and threat response validation.
• Okta OS Login / Device Access: Supporting endpoint identity integration testing and policy validation.
• Single Sign-On (SSO) & Application Integration Modernization: Assist in onboarding and migrating enterprise applications to modern SAML 2.0 and OIDC authentication standards, retiring legacy connections. Partner with application teams to conduct authentication testing in non-production environments (login-dev.gfs.com) and troubleshoot federation issues.
• Documentation, Training & Enablement: Develop clear, end-user and administrator training guides, FAQs, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for newly rolled-out authentication options. Document test cases, system runbooks, and troubleshooting steps to assist Tier 1/2 support and application owners.
• Operational & Disaster Recovery Support: Assist with identity health checks, synthetic transaction monitoring, and operational testing (such as Okta Enhanced DR and failover validations).
• Participate in IAM sprint ceremonies, backlog reviews, and deliver a capstone project presentation to EIS leadership at the conclusion of the 12-week program.
