Job summary

McHenry County College is seeking a Systems and Identity Services Engineer to oversee security and identity services for access, onboarding, and offboarding. You will coordinate server maintenance and collaborate with IT staff and vendors to ensure security and availability of core systems.

Responsibilities include managing access requests, performing vulnerability remediation, patch management, IAM workflows, and reporting.

Qualifications

• Requires an Associate’s degree or equivalent professional experience.

Responsibilities

• Process and track requests for security access and roles; manage security access per user changes.
• Develop, maintain, and schedule reports in Colleague and other systems.
• Lead annual user access reviews and remediation for security gaps.
• Identify server vulnerabilities and apply patches.
• Support scheduled maintenance windows and incident response, including after-hours.
• Manage IAM workflows and analyze access issues to improve security.
• Maintain inventories of server hardware and software versions.
• Coordinate patch management and lifecycle updates with cross-functional teams.
• Provide backup services for identity management solutions.
• Manage VMware virtual server environment.
• Manage user accounts in Azure/AD and verify identity.
• Support departments moving to OneDrive/Teams.
• Review security group memberships and suggest improvements.
• Document all processes relevant to the role.
• Assist with security tasks including virus containment.
• Collaborate professionally to achieve objectives.
• Additional duties as assigned.
