Redpanda Data is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to own identity, authentication, authorization, and on-behalf-of patterns across the Agentic Data Plane and Cloud platform. You will shape technical bets, implement end‑to‑end identity infrastructure, and influence across distributed teams.

You will work with external identity standards, federate with customers' IdPs, and deliver secure, auditable authorization at scale.

Qualifikationen

• 10+ years delivering authentication/authorization systems in production.
• Experience designing OAuth/OIDC-based solutions at scale.
• Ability to federate with customers' IdPs (Okta/Entra/Ping or similar).
• Proven track record influencing across multiple teams as IC.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for security discussions.

Aufgaben

• Own AuthN, AuthZ and OBO direction across Data Plane and Cloud platforms.
• Design and implement extensions to OAuth 2.1 server and token vault.
• Collaborate with identity federation surface to integrate with customers’ IdPs.
• Work with distributed teams to ensure secure, auditable authority chains.
• Represent Redpanda's position in security discussions and standards efforts.
• Ship production‑hardened identity infrastructure; mentor engineers without direct management.
• Raise strategic challenges to engineering leadership; manage risk and mitigation.
• Engage with peers and Directors to shape engineering environment.
