Job summary

Anthropic seeks a Staff+ Software Engineer to advance access programs, building identity verification, vetting, and access-management infrastructure for trusted access to frontier AI capabilities.

You'll partner with policy, enforcement, product, and security teams, develop monitoring and enforcement tooling, and help ensure safe, responsible deployment of models while enabling broad but controlled access.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or comparable experience.
• Experience building and operating backend systems in production.
• Strong coding skills in at least one general-purpose programming language and experience building software with AI coding tools.
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain complex technical concepts.
• Care about the societal impacts of AI.

Responsibilities

• Build identity verification and vetting systems that establish who our individuals and business customers are.
• Design and implement access control systems that grant, scope, and revoke access to advanced capabilities.
• Build infrastructure to configure safety systems and detection thresholds per customer.
• Develop monitoring to detect misuse of expanded access and tooling for enforcement teams.
