Job summary

Redpanda is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to own AuthN, AuthZ, and OBO for agents across the Agentic Data Platform and Cloud platform. This high-autonomy IC role requires hands-on building and influencing across teams.

You will design, implement, and ship identity infrastructure in production, collaborating with Security, Platform, and Product to ensure auditable, scalable auth flows. You will mentor engineers and shape engineering direction in a fast-growing startup.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software development experience with hands-on auth identity
• Hands-on with OAuth 2.0/2.1, OIDC and delegation patterns
• Experience designing systems that federate with customer IdPs

Responsibilities

• Own the technical direction for AuthN, AuthZ, and OBO across data and cloud platforms
• Design and implement auth infrastructure in production
• Collaborate with identity federation surface (Okta, Entra, Ping)
• Ship production-ready identity features and tooling as an IC
• Mentor engineers across teams and drive cross-functional initiatives
• Communicate security tradeoffs and architectural decisions clearly
