The IDEA Lab at RRCC is seeking an IDEA Lab Assistant to assist with managing and coordinating projects and programs for the IDEA Lab. The IDEA Lab is a makerspace on the Lakewood campus where faculty and students innovate, create, and build community. IDEA Lab Assistants will support RRCC students in the IDEA Lab with creating, designing, and building class prototypes and design projects. IDEA Lab Assistants are responsible for monitoring check-in/check-out procedures of the lab, leading tours of the IDEA Lab to visitors, and helping ensure that safety protocols are maintained. Additionally, IDEA Lab Assistants will organize and lead projects within the RRCC community as assigned to encourage multidisciplinary engagement with the IDEA Lab.
This position reports to the Director of Innovation and Engagement. The work schedule for this position is within Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, at the Lakewood Campus. May require hours outside of normal work schedule.
This is a student employee position. This position may work up to 20 hours each week while class is in session and up to 28 hours each week during academic breaks or breaks between terms while an RRCC student, depending on class schedule, need, and budget availability. Student employees are enrolled and contribute to a TIAA-CREF account when enrolled in less than six credits.
