Job summary

WestEd invites applications for a Program Associate in the IDEA Fiscal Systems and Accountability area. The role supports states and agencies in administering IDEA funds and fiscal reporting, with a focus on Part C and related requirements.

Remote work is available, with up to 40% travel for on-site support. The successful candidate will assist senior staff, help develop guidance, and coordinate project activities across policy, research, and programmatic teams, ensuring high-quality technical

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in accounting, finance, business or education administration, or related field.
• Knowledge of federal fiscal accountability requirements and related finance systems.
• Experience administering or supporting special education, early intervention, or other public programs.
• Familiarity with IDEA Part C fiscal requirements and related funding mechanisms.
• Strong written and verbal communication and ability to summarize complex information.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance and resources to states to meet IDEA program and fiscal requirements.
• Develop and prepare materials for technical assistance projects.
• Create and disseminate tools, templates, and guidance for clients.
• Draft client-facing materials and reports with clear, audience-appropriate language.
• Coordinate tasks and meetings; track progress within project teams.
• Support events, calendar management, and meeting notes.
• Travel up to 40% for on-site support and meetings.
