Job summary

WestEd is seeking a detail-oriented Program Associate to join the Federal Fiscal Accountability team, focusing on IDEA Part C fiscal requirements and support for special education programs.

You will collaborate with state agencies and local educational agencies, contribute to policy analysis, resource development, and reporting, and may travel up to 30% for on-site technical assistance as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, public administration, education administration, special education, early childhood education, or related fields.
• Experience administering or supporting special education, early intervention, federal education, or other publicly funded programs.
• Understanding of IDEA Part C systems and fiscal requirements, including payor of last resort and financial responsibility.
• Ability to review, analyze, and summarize policies, budgets, and fiscal documents.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance and resources to states to meet IDEA program and fiscal requirements.
• Assist in developing materials for technical assistance and project content.
• Contribute to drafting resources, tools, and templates.
• Summarize client materials such as policy and background research.
• Coordinate and track project tasks and meetings.
