Job summary

Afton Partners seeks an Associate to support strategic planning, policy, and systems design engagements with Early Childhood clients across the country. You will conduct research, analysis, and engagement tasks that shape client recommendations and funding options in a collaborative, mission-driven setting.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical and research skills with clear writing and attention to detail.
• Foundation in management consulting skills: structuring problems, synthesizing information, and client communication.
• Experience or strong interest in early childhood policy and systems.
• Experience with or understanding of programs serving diverse children and families.

Responsibilities

• Conduct policy, program, and landscape research on early childhood topics across states.
• Code qualitative data from interviews, focus groups, and surveys; extract themes.
• Collect, clean, and analyze quantitative data; build transparent models and spreadsheets.
• Support cost modeling, revenue scenarios, and budget analyses with data inputs.
• Turn research into clear takeaways focused on client decisions and questions.
• Prepare materials for commissions, advisory bodies, and stakeholder meetings.
