Job summary

WestEd seeks a detail-oriented Program Associate to support IDEA Part C/B fiscal requirements and special education projects. You will assist with policy analysis, resource development, and state/local project coordination, contributing to technical assistance and research delivery. Travel up to 40% for on-site support is possible.

The role emphasizes collaboration across fiscal, policy, research, and program areas, with a focus on high-quality client services and effective communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education, administration, or related field.
• Knowledge of federal fiscal accountability requirements for special education.
• Experience administering or supporting publicly funded programs.
• Ability to review and summarize complex policies and budgets.
• Strong organizational, communication, and project-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance and resources to states to meet IDEA and fiscal requirements.
• Develop materials for technical assistance and project content.
• Create and disseminate tools, templates, and guidance for clients.
• Summarize policy and background research for internal and client use.
• Coordinate events, meetings, and track task progress.
• Support project teams across multiple streams and ensure timely delivery.
