Job summary

The University of Connecticut School of Social Work seeks a Senior Public Policy Analyst (Research Associate I) to join the Innovations Institute. The role supports public policy, financing, and evaluation for children, youth, and families, with projects across federal, state, and local governments and remote work with occasional travel to Hartford.

The selected candidate will draft briefs, white papers, and technical reports; collaborate across the Institute and School of Social Work; and

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience working in and with federal, state, and local public child- and family-serving agencies.
• Demonstrated record of scholarship, including authoring or co-authoring high-quality reports, toolkits, and briefs related to public child- and family-serving systems.
• Demonstrated experience working with multiple states on children’s public behavioral health system design, implementation, or initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Review, analyze, and summarize peer-reviewed and gray literature and datasets to support technical assistance and literature reviews.
• Prepare briefs, white papers, technical reports, and presentations.
• Lead meetings with state and local leadership and coordinate action steps.

Skills

Demonstrated experience working in and

Education

Ph.D. with up to one year of post‑degree experience or Master’s degree and eight to ten years

Master’s degree or PhD in social work, psychology, public administration, public management, public policy, or a related field
