Job summary

Netflix is seeking a Software Engineer in Oklahoma City to help enhance developer productivity by building tight integrations between JetBrains IDEs and Netflix’s internal platforms. You will create tooling and libraries to simplify IDE plugin development and work with Platform teams to provide contextual guidance inside the IDE.

You should have experience building tooling for engineers (IDEs/CLIs/web UIs) and a product mindset to design scalable solutions, with strong communication to influence

Qualifications

• Experience building tooling for engineers, including IDEs, CLIs, or web UIs.
• Product‑centric mindset with strong ability to understand user needs and design scalable engineering solutions.
• Comfortable working through ambiguity in a green‑field opportunity.
• Excellent communication to collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
• Professional‑level experience in Java, Kotlin, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Nice to have: JetBrains IDE plugins or VSCode extensions experience.

Responsibilities

• Integrate IntelliJ and other JetBrains IDEs with our inner remote workspace product to offer a familiar improvement experience.
• Build tooling and reusable libraries to simplify creating, testing, and distributing IDE plugins.
• Collaborate with Platform teams to embed context into the IDE, including hyperlinks to API docs and style guidance.
• Set up user engagement and platform collaboration for the new environment.
