Job summary

RHA Health Services, LLC is hiring an IDD Teacher Assistant to provide direct educational services to service users at the Howell Care Centers under the supervision of the Director of Professional Services. The role supports teachers and helps create engaging activities tailored to each individual's needs.

Ideal candidates will have a High School diploma or GED with at least one year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and may require a North Carolina driver’s

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with at least one year experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities
• A Valid North Carolina driver's license may be required.
• Pre-employment screening: criminal background checks including OIG, Child Abuse Registry, and Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities
• Drug testing and verification of education and other credentials as required for the position

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher and conduct activities that meet the needs of each individual (Integrative Activities)
• Ensure class schedules and routines are followed
• Assist in developing activities for weekends and holidays
• Assist in basic care of individuals and instruction in such skills
• Collect appropriate data and record progress as assigned
• Perform other duties as assigned
