Job summary

Home of Guiding Hands in Lemon Grove, CA is urgently hiring experienced caregivers and Direct Support Professionals to help individuals with IDD live as independently as possible. As a Direct Support Professional, you work in residential homes, assist with daily living, and support goals, routines, and community activities.

The role requires at least 12 months IDD experience, a high school diploma, CPR/First Aid, and a valid CA driver's license.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months experience working with individuals with IDD.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current CPR/First Aid certification required.
• Valid California driver's license with at least 24 months driving experience.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and provide person-centered support.
• Patience and dependability to support others.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care and daily living activities.
• Support individuals' goals and routines.
• Facilitate community activities and appointments.
• Provide positive behavioral and emotional support.
• Administer and document medications.
• Complete daily documentation and transport clients in agency vehicles.
• Collaborate with a supportive care team.
