Job summary

PermiaCare is seeking an IDD Crisis Response Specialist to support individuals with IDD and behavioral/psychiatric crises in the community. The role involves crisis assessment, intervention, and coordinating with partners to access appropriate services.

You will work with law enforcement, hospitals, and community providers, ensuring least restrictive interventions and timely documentation, while maintaining HIPAA compliance and a strong commitment to client advocacy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work or related field.
• At least 1 year of experience with IDD or mental health.
• Must pass background checks and obtain QMHP and QIDP certifications within defined timelines.

Responsibilities

• Respond to crisis situations involving individuals with IDD or mental health crises.
• Assess danger to self or others and coordinate emergency responses.
• Maintain documentation in EHR and ensure HIPAA compliance.
• Collaborate with LIDDA, MCOT, and law enforcement to coordinate crisis services.
• Provide crisis intervention and linkage to community resources to prevent future crises.
