Job summary

South Carolina Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities is seeking Workforce Specialists to assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a residential setting at Whitten Regional Center in Clinton, SC. This role includes implementing services, conducting assessments, and providing direct hands-on care to support daily living skills.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED (bachelor’s degree can substitute), a valid driver’s license, and

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; a bachelor's degree may substitute for the required experience.
• Valid Driver's License and administrative abilities with knowledge of relevant regulations.
• Basic computer skills including Therap and SCEIS Central for time and leave purposes.
• Reading and writing communications skills; basic mathematics.
• Ability to work with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities in a fast-paced setting.
• Knowledge of safety practices and ability to transport consumers when needed.

Responsibilities

• Implements services for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities in group settings.
• Completes assessments and implements programs based on assessed needs; monitors progress.
• Provides training in self-help skills and covers residential units as needed.
• Ensures a safe, clean environment and addresses safety risks; documents objectives and attendance.
• Performs direct hands-on care and assists with activities of daily living; transports consumers.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
