Job summary

The University of Idaho seeks an IdahoSTARS Infant/Toddler & Family Specialist in a hybrid/remote off-campus role. Position Overview:

The IdahoSTARS Infant/Toddler & Family Coordinator contributesdirectly to the success of IdahoSTARS, one of the many projects runby the Idaho Center on Disabilities and Human Development (CDHD).This position supports the development, coordination,implementation, and maintenance of statewide systems andinitiatives focused on improving the quality of care for infants,toddlers, and families within childcare settings.

This position is responsible for the coordination and support ofsystems for: 1) Infant and Toddler initiatives: processes for thedevelopment, implementation, maintenance, and delivery of specialized infant and toddler quality improvement activities andprofessional development; and 2) Family engagement initiatives:processes for the development, implementation, maintenance, anddelivery of family engagement supports, resources, and professionaldevelopment opportunities.

Responsibilities include developing, obtaining, modifying,presenting, coordinating, and supporting specialized professionaldevelopment opportunities, technical assistance, andrelationship-based practices grounded in research andevidence-based approaches that are specific to the care andeducation of infants and toddlers and partnering with families.This position collaborates with the Professional Development andCCR&R teams and across IdahoSTARS programs to support alignmentwith project priorities, CCDF requirements, and strategicdirection.

Required Experience:
  • Three years working with children birth to three and theirfamilies
  • Development of professional development content grounded inresearch and evidence-based practices
  • Experience supporting Infant and Toddler care and educationinitiatives
  • Experience collaborating with families and/or supporting familyengagement practices

Additional Preferred:
Preferred Experience:
  • Five years of experience working with infants and toddlers andtheir families
  • Experience implementing adult learning principles to ensurequality content delivery and development
  • Experience with reflective consultation or reflectivepractice
  • Experience coordinating a statewide program
  • Experience supporting family engagement initiatives in earlychildhood settings
Preferred Education:
  • Master's degree in one of the required degree programs
Preferred Other:
  • Experience developing Infant and toddler and family-focusedprofessional development
  • Managing a variety of projects simultaneously in a fast-pacedenvironment
  • Implementing core components of a shared workplace
  • Collecting and analyzing data
  • Use of software applications for business purposes, includingMicrosoft applications
