Job summary

The University of Idaho seeks a Quality Improvement Specialist to conduct ERS assessments and QualityAchievers verifications for IdahoSTARS programs, primarily in Regions 3–5. Travel across Treasure and Magic Valley areas is required, with some evenings and weekends.

You will engage with childcare facilities, support program activities, and report findings to inform quality improvement efforts. A Bachelor's degree in a related field and experience with adult learners are required.

Position Overview

This position will conduct quality improvement assessments, such as the Environment Rating Scale (ERS) Assessments, and QualityAchievers verification visits (virtual and in person) for childcare facilities engaged in IdahoSTARS quality improvement activities, primarily in Regions 3, 4, and 5.

Required Experience

• Experience training and/or presenting to adult learners within the last three years.
• Three years’ experience in early care and education or related field providing direct services to children and/or families.
• One year experience with quality improvement assessments tools such as the Environmental Rating Scale.

Required Education

• Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, child development, human development, family and consumer studies, child and family studies, childcare and development, family relations, or child development.

Required Other

• Requires the ability to travel between locations during the business day for meetings and support program activities.
• Requires the ability to travel to conduct assessments and verifications in Treasure and Magic Valley areas.
• Work nonstandard hours including evenings and weekends as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with QRIS systems.
• Experience with the IdahoSTARS Project and RISE database.
• Experience conducting quality improvement assessments such as ERS.
• Three or more years’ experience training and/or presenting to adult learners.

Preferred Education

• Master’s degree in early childhood education, child development, human development, family and consumer studies, child and family studies, childcare and development, family relations, or child development.
