Job summary

MedVet is seeking a Nursing & ICU Veterinary Assistant to support our fast-paced nursing department. You will help supervise patients, assist with phlebotomy, IV catheters, recovery, and client education, ensuring adherence to treatment plans.

Ideal candidates have veterinary experience, enjoy a fast-paced environment, and possess strong communication skills for team and client interactions.

Qualifications

• Must have prior veterinary experience.
• Experience in nursing or critical care is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Record and deliver organized rounds, discuss cases and gather information.
• Collaborate with the patient care team on treatment plans and nursing care.
• Educate clients on home care, medications, and hospital updates.
• Assist DVM with patient assessment, treatment and procedures.
• Provide monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patients.
• Perform in-house lab testing and prep samples for outside labs.
